My Dead Pony: This a graphic artist site, using predominantly vector based work. It has an archive of personal and client work in a unique graphic style. The style and technique used to develop this work is of particular interest to me.

Psyop.tv: Some of the ad's on this site blow my mind. The idea's as well as the amazing animation are astounding. Particually 'Adidas' 'Adidas Olympics' and 'Mercedes' ad's, I was made aware of this site via a design lecture I attended at VUW. Definately a site worth checking out.

The Wire: This isn't a site that I have looked into in much depth yet, but it's full of blogs from well known New Zealanders talking about what's important to them. An easy to follow site with some names and faces you kiwi's are gona recognise.

Slam X Hype: Quoted by Rufus to be the 11th most viewed site on the web, as well as being grown here in Wellington it's gotta be a site to check out for fashion, design, architecture and almost anything stylish...

DESN111 video: This is a design video made by Stacey Tampi and myself. It uses stop motion animation, the music is by my mates band 'The Daquiris'. The video is our interpetation of industrial design at Victoria University. Check it out, blog it, get me heaps of hit's on the video.

My first ever blog

It's amazing what you can do with a sheet of A4 paper and some interesting lighting. This is a model I created for a design project (DESN101) at Victoria University. I'm in my first year here and i'm loving it, it's really challenging, and that's great.
This model was created out of one sheet of A4 paper, cut, placed on my desk under lamp light and here's the result. Pretty cool I think. I hope, and it is intended to talk about design. Repetition, layering, light, shadow, fluid form, linear, space.
Personally, I see this piece as successful in many ways; it is cropped to leave space to appreciate the detail of the model. The model and it's shadow combine to create it's own form. The shadow overlays the layering of the model creating a detailed texture. As well as these points the compositon plays with the idea of rule of thirds.
I chose this piece because I see it as a compelling design that allows the viewer to appreciate the many aspects of the model.
